SADIST Recording New Album
January 21, 2010Italian progressive death metallers SADIST have entered Nadir Music studios in Genova to record their new album, "Season In Silence", for a March 19 release. According to a press release, the new CD promises to be the band's "most technical and extreme" effort to date.
SADIST's "One Thousand Memories" video can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's self-titled comeback album, which was released in 2007 via Beyond Productions.
Formed in 1991, SADIST split up in 2000 after releasing the "Lego" album and later reunited in 2005. Their compositions are said to involve "a heavy usage of guitar solos and keyboard solos, with progressive, jazz and some Eastern influences. Although SADIST are a death metal outfit, the album 'Lego' is a nu metal album with a thrash metal background."
"Sadist" featured a guest appearance by GOBLIN keyboardist Claudio Simonetti, who contributed a special version of the instrumental track "Sadist", which previously appeared on SADIST's 1993 debut album, "Above the Light".
